Keengate

Keengate

Scale: 4mm to the foot (OO-gauge)

Approx dimensions: 16ft (5m) long by 12ft (3.5m) wide

A new layout based on completion of the part-built MR mainline into Bradford from the south. This would permit intensive EMU and DMU operation along with limited Midland and Virgin Cross-Country services (the least demanding InterCity trains in terms of length). Freight services north and south can also run. Railtours and steam specials over the Settle and Carlisle may also feature.

Happisburgh

Happisburgh

Scale: 7mm to the foot (O-gauge)

Approx dimensions: 36ft (11m) long, with extentions to 50ft (15m) by 4ft (1.3m) wide

A real town on the coast of East Anglia - pronounced 'haysboro', (with the only privatised lighthouse in the British Isles), it never actually had a station, but there were several schemes and this layout is based on one of them. A terminus station, the building is actually Hertford East, the line serves holiday traffic and a sugar refinery. It is set in the early 1960's during the Beeching era and there is a closure notice posted on the wall of the station building. The locos are dirty and run-down, the buildings are still beautiful and in use.
