Right, for those of you who have got this far, I discovered recently a metre gauge line in the Costa Blanca, the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana, its' site is: http://www.fgv.es/fgv/htmleng/empresa/historia_tram.htm. It needs all the friends it can get! The lower part is getting electrified as a tram system, but it is the upper half that would be unbelievably spectacular if steam hauled. I have never seen gradients and bends like it (in the UK admittedly), but what a ride it would be. And for those of you with 'the family' to also entertain, I can recommend The Ondara Riding School, near Pedreguer - about 8 miles from Javea.
