About this event
In ‘Southern Electrics Part 2’, David Brown covers the second-generation electric stock introduced by the SR and BR between 1941 and 1974, starting with the first Bulleid ‘six-a-side’ 4 SUBs.
He also takes a brief look at later third-generation sliding-door units, including the ‘508’s, ‘455’s and ‘442’s.
Also included are electrification schemes, station rebuildings, closures and other developments during the sixty years between the start of WW2 and about 2000.
