Lecture Nights

Dedicated club nights given over to talks on a variety of railway and modelling topics

6 times a year, in the autumn, winter and spring the Model Railway Club hosts a monthly lecture series on a varied array of topic of interest to anyone who enjoys informative talks on railways or railway modelling. latest events are in our ‘What’s On’ section.

Most events are also available to watch live on Zoom – details are in each event.

Non-MRC members welcome at all lectures, which start at 7.30 (unless stated), and with a short interval normally conclude around 9.15

Visitors are requested to make a suggested donation of £3.00, MRC members can attend any lecture free of charge.

All MRC lectures are held in Keen House, 4 Calshot Street, London N1 9DA.

Please note that Keen House has steps or stairs to all areas.

Thursday 8th November 2018 – Adventures with a miniature Steam road locomotive on Britain’s Roads – by Tim Watson

Join our president Tim Watson as he describes travelling from Rickmansworth to the Great Dorset Steam Rally by model traction engine

Thursday 10th January 2019 – “More from Kohler” – Hornby’s Marketing and Development Director Simon Kohler

Simon returns to Keen House with more stories from his career in the hobby, and perhaps some updates and insights from what is probably the most famous model railway brand in the world.
